Enable real-time licence plate enforcement with Offstreet and Genetec AutoVu

Offstreet integrates with Genetec’s AutoVu system to support real-time vehicle enforcement. AutoVu regularly pulls licence plate data from Offstreet and assigns plates to Genetec permit lists for on-the-ground validation.

This is a pull-based integration. Genetec fetches data from Offstreet every 5 minutes.If a plate is not found, AutoVu performs a last-chance lookup directly against Offstreet’s API.

Integration Overview

Offstreet syncs with Genetec AutoVu using the Pay-by-Plate Sync plugin. Licence plates created in Offstreet are added to permit lists in Genetec, allowing enforcement systems to validate vehicles in near real-time.

  • Plates are synced every 5 minutes
  • AutoVu can perform last-chance lookups if a plate is not in the permit list
  • Each Offstreet location is tied to a Genetec permit list

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Request Integration Access

Contact your Offstreet account manager and include:

  • Name and email of your Genetec technical contact
  • A list of Offstreet locations to be enforced
  • Genetec Location IDs (one per location)

2. Schedule a Configuration Call

Duration: 30–45 minutes

Before the call, ensure:

  • Genetec integration is enabled in Offstreet at the company and location level
  • Offstreet Zone Names are configured
  • API Key and Endpoint have been received from Offstreet
  • You have access to the Genetec Config Tool and plugin

3. Configure Genetec

Use the API Key and URL provided by Offstreet.

If the Properties tab is missing, the Pay-by-Plate plugin may not be installed.

Each Offstreet location maps to a permit list in Genetec.

If a location is not selectable, verify that the Location ID exists in Offstreet and is correctly formatted.

4. Test the Integration

Steps to validate:

  1. Open Hotlist and Permit Editor
  2. Select the mapped permit list
  3. Search for a test plate
  4. Confirm that the plate appears

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Make sure Update Now has been run in the plugin
  • Confirm the timezone is correctly set in Offstreet
  • Double-check Location ID formatting and spelling

5. Go Live

Once testing is successful, the integration runs automatically every 5 minutes. No further configuration is needed.

AutoVu will:

  • Continuously pull active permits from Offstreet
  • Perform real-time lookups if a plate is not found in the permit list
